2650248 - Adding to a view fails on IBM i with "Column not in table"

Adding a column to a view in transaction SE14 fails with one of the following errors:
Column <column name> not in table <table name> in <library name>.
<library name> is a schema other than R3<SID>DATA.

Any SAP system on IBM i.
