Symptom

How to identify the Source of Rating in Performance History Block

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management

Resolution

There are 3 types of summary sections:

  • Summary
  • Objective Competency Summary
  • Performance Potential Summary

Scenario A:

You have one summary section:

a) Summary => Performance Management will be pulled into the Performance History Block

b) Objective Competency Summary => will pull Overall Objective Rating + Overall Competency Rating and if OCOC is set up correctly, the OCOC rating will be the Performance rating

c) Performance Potential Summary => will pull Performance and Potential Rating

 

Scenario B:

You have two summary sections:

a) Summary and Objective Competency Summary => OCOC is not the rating of record, therefore the Performance Rating will come from Summary; Overall Objective Rating + Overall Competency Rating will come from the Objective Competency Summary

b) Summary and Performance Potential Summary => Performance Rating and Potential Rating will come from the Performance Potential Summary, Summary section will be disregarded as the rating of record comes from the Performance Potential Summary (NOTE: if you use the "similar built" rating scale in both sections, so e.g. a 3 point rating scale in the Summary section and the Matrix grid rating scale in Performance Potential Summary for the Performance rating is as well a 3 point rating scale, the Performance rating between these two sections is synced. However, if you use a 5 point rating scale in the Summary section and a 3 point rating scale for Performance Potential Summary no sync will take place and Performance Potential Summary will have the rating of record as described above. Also please be aware that manual rating for Peformance needs to be set to true)

c) Objective Competency Summary and Performance Potential Summary => OCOC is not the rating of record, therefore the Performance Rating will come from Performance Potential Summary, Potential Rating will be pulled from Performance Potential Summary; Overall Objective Rating + Overall Competency Rating will be pulled from Objective Competency Summary

 

Scenario C:

You have three summary sections:

Summary and Objective Competency Summary and Performance Potential Summary

=> Performance Rating will come from Performance Potential Summary (OCOC + rating from summary section will be ignored), Potential rating will come from Performance Potential Summary, Overall Objective Rating + Overall Competency Rating will be pulled from Objective Competency Summary

Note: same logic applies to Adhoc Reports, Calibration and Compensation
