2651443 - How to prevent managers from changing the required date when assigning items to their direct reports?

When a manager / supervisor assigns an item to their Employee (direct report), the manager has the ability to change/edit the required date of this assignment. Is there a way to prevent it?

1. Log into HCM as a manager / supervisor > navigate to the Learning user side >
2. Go to the "My Team" page > at the Links tile, click on 'Assign/Remove Learning' > Assign Learning >
3. Select the user(s) and item(s) to be assigned >
4. Notice there is a field where the manager can add/edit the item's Required date >
5. Finish the assignment >
6. Still at the "My Team" page, click on the user to which the item was assigned to >
7. At the user's Learning Plan, search for the assignment done by the manager >
8. Notice that next to the item's required date, there is a "pencil" icon, which the manager can use to edit the required date.

Currently, that's the system's expected behavior. When an item is being directly assigned to the user by their manager / supervisor, they have the ability to add/edit the required date.

The ability to add/edit an item's required date is only applicable for items assigned to users by their manager / supervisor. For items assigned by other means (by assignment profile, by admin, self-assigned, etc.), the manager will not have the authority to change its required dates.

Moreover, it's not possible to remove the 'Required Date' column from the manager's assignment wizard. To prevent managers / supervisors from assigning items, it would be necessary to entirely remove their capability to manage their direct reports' assignments, as per 2174984.

Alternatively, to have a different system behavior, it would be possible to have an enhancement request created for it (as per KBA 2090228), where the Learning Product Management team can further review and assess the requested functionality to be considered in a future release.
