2651601 - The database 'saptempdb' does not exist or is not a user created temporary database (db code 18946) - SAP ASE for Business Suite

Symptom

During a system upgrade using SUM, you are facing an error in the phase: PREP_INSTALL/SHDINST_DB_PREP

A short dump with the following error message which also appear in SM21 system log:
