Symptom
Creating a job req from position for a future date fails.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Org Chat>Position Org Chart
- Search for position you want to create the job req from
- Actions>Create Job Requisition:
- In the pop-up, select a future date:
- Here you can see the Job Req that is scheduled to be created and it will show the code where the backend job will use to create the job req on the specified date:
- In some cases the creation fails or else the backend job is not working correctly.
Cause
- If the creation fails, the job owner will receive an email with the information about the failure. It could be caused due to a data issue or configuration issue.
- However, if the job requisition does not get created and the above section (job requisition section) still shows the creation status as overdue, it means the back end job is not configured or not working.
Resolution
Resolution 1:
if the user is not able to identify the issue, a ticket has to be raised with the support team. Please provide the position number and attach the email received from the job execution.
Resolution 2:
- The job failed for some reason, in this case, a ticket with support will be necessary.
- The second issue could be the back end job was not scheduled to run on daily basis. In order to schedule this job, follow the steps below:
- Go to Provisioning>Manage Scheduled Jobs>Create New Job:
- Select a “Job Name” and “Job Owner”. The job owner should be an admin user who will be notified when something goes wrong. Select “Position Job Requisition Processing” as job type. Please ensure that the job runs at least once a day.
- When the job finishes processing, the admin user is notified whether the creation of the requisitions was successful or not. An error message will be included in the email as shown in the example below:
NOTE:
- Future dated Job Requisitions created using Position Org will take the Job Executor of the Position Job Requisition Processing job in Provisioning as the Originator. Be sure that this user has permission to Create Form in RBP to avoid error during the time of creation.
- If you do not have access to provisioning please contact your implementation partner or SAP professional services. You will need to provide all the necessary information for making the schedule as Job Name, Job Owner, and Occurrence.
- Once the “Position Job Requisition Processing” job in Provisioning is configured and running, it will pick up Job Requisitions scheduled to be created in the future. It will not work retroactively, hence it will not pick up Job Requisitions that were scheduled to be created in the past, if you configure the “Position Job Requisition Processing” job for the first time. The missed Job Requisitions that were scheduled to be created in the past have to be manually created from the Positions.
