2651894 - Msg 3626 /11031 / 2706 occurs on "update index statistics" after ASE upgrade - SAP ASE

Symptom

After ASE upgraded, "update index statistics" gets error 3626 / 11031 / 2706.  Msg 11031 complains on partition.  Msg 2706 complains the object does not exist.  However, the object DOES exist.

1> update index statistics [db1.user1.table_t1] with sampling = 100 percent, consumers=26
2> go
   
Msg 3626, Level 17, State 4:
Server 'XXXX', Line 1:
The transaction was aborted because it used too much stack space. Either use sp_configure to increase the stack size, or break the query into smaller pieces. spid: 77, suid: 7, hostname: cccc02.abcdefg.in, application name: isql
   
Msg 11031, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'XXXX', Line 1:
Execution of unknown type ptncond_1008771670_2 failed because of errors parsing the source text in syscomments during upgrade. Please drop and recreate user1.ptncond_1008771670_2.
    
Msg 2706, Level 11, State 1:
Server 'XXXX', Line 1:
Table 'db1.user1.table_t1' does not exist.
