2652855 - Editing a Product in an Opportunity Does Not Change The Product Description

You have added a Product to an Opportunity but then you wish to change one of the Product attributes or the product itself via the Edit function. However, the product description does not change.

SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer

1. Go to the Sales workcenter.
2. Go to the Opportunities view.
3. Open any Opportunity.
4. Go to the Products facet.
5. Add any Product. The description is being displayed in the line.
6. Now click the Value Selector for any Product attribute or the Product itself and change the value.

Result: the description is not being changed; it still displays the description of the previously selected Product.

This is the expected behaviour.

The identifier column will read the Product Master Data at run time and show the maintained description, hence it shows the latest description of the product first selected in the opportunity.

The editable text field Products - Description and non editable static text Overview - Products - Description will not be read from master data each time for performance reasons.

If you wish to change the Product or a Product attribute, please do so by removing the previously added Product and add the desired Product with the desired attributes anew.
