2653757 - Error Consuming OData Service in Excel

• Make sure the external data feed server is available and that your connection information is correct
• Unable to obtain list of tables from the data source

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Create a Communication Arrangement for a Custom CDS View to be able to access OData service for the Custom CDS View
2. With Microsoft Excel use the OData Data feed to conume the new OData service that you have created
3. At this point you may see the error

• The $metadata file of the odata service must be requested at least once
• This may also happen if using Microsoft Excel 2013 without the Microsoft Excel Power Query Add On

• Go to a browser and call the OData service metadata, for example, https://myXXXXXX-api.s4hana.ondemand.com/sap/opu/odata/sap/YY1_<ODATA-SERVCE>/$metadata
• If using Microsoft Excel 2013 you will also need to download the Microsoft Excel Power Query Add On
• Connect to an OData feed (Power Query)
