2654901 - MRP Creates Purchase Proposals with Wrong lot-sizing Method

Symptom

For example, you expect that system would create one single supply for the demands within month while running Material Requirement Planning (MRP) for Product ABC (ABC stands for production ID) with Production Specification DEF (DEF stands for production specification ID). Then you maintain the planning procedure as "demand - driven", the lot-sizing method as "periodic lot-size" and period type as "month" in the Product Master Data.

However, system creates proposals for each demand, instead of creates as per your setting.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Supply Planning Work Center.
  2. Navigate to Products View.
  3. Search for Product ABC with Production Specification DEF.
  4. Click Open.
  5. Click Run Planning - Single BoM level, then system would create proposals for each demand.

Cause

For Products with Production Specification, the lot sizing method "Lot-for-Lot" is automatically applied, other methods would be ignored.

Resolution

This is standard system behavior.
