2654998 - Source Logistics Area Not Proposed for Post Goods Issue

Symptom

You are performing Post Goods Issue for a product. The product is not in stock, however you have enabled negative stock allowed flag for the relevant Logistics Area and hence expects the system should propose the Source Logistics Area in the Post Goods Issue screen.

Environment

SAP Business Bydesign All Versions

Reproducing the Issue

1.Go the Outbound Logistics work center.

2.Navigate to Delivery Control View.

3.Open Delivery Proposals View.

4.Select the Delivery Request XXX (XXX stands for Delivery Requeset ID).

5.Click the Post Goods Issue button.

In the Create Outbound Delivery and Goods Issue screen you see that the system has not proposed a relevant Source Logistics Area ABC (ABC stands for the Logistics Area ID), even though you have allowed negative stocks for the Logistics Area ABC.

Cause

The Business ByDesign system is designed in such a way that the Source Logistics Area will not be proposed, nor will be visible when selecting the value help button while confirming a task or performing Post Goods Issue, if the available stock for the relevant product is zero. The Logistics Area will be proposed when negative stock indicator is enabled for a particular Logistics Area, only when the Allocation Type and Allocation Scope is not be defined for the same and there is either a positive or a negative stock for the relevant product.

Resolution

The system is working as designed. As a workaround, you could manually input the logistics area ID.
