Why when you enable "Salary Proration" in a Compensation Template do you see extra columns that have been added to "Design Worksheet" Page?
Environment
Compensation
Reproducing the Issue
Go to:
- Admin Centre
- Compensation Home
- Click a Compensation Plan
- Click Plan Setup > Settings
- Enable "Salary Proration"
Resolution
When you enabled Salary Proration in the template settings page you can choose to prorate "based on Date" or "based on Percentage". If you select "based on date" the system will create two fields for the start and end date automatically. You can change the options for this to be hidden so they wont appear on the worksheet if you do not wish them to:
If you configure the proration to be "based on percentage" then the system will automatically create a field called "Prorating":
These fields are system generated. They do not appear as configurable fields in the template XML either. If you have selected that the proration is to be "based on date" and then delete the fields in design worksheet, the system will automatically switch the proration setting to "based on percentage" and create the "Prorating" column that can be seen above. If you then proceed to delete this column you will notice that the system will disable Salary Proration completely until you enable it again.
This is working as designed, for Salary Proration to work you need to have the system generated fields for either percentage or date available depending on the setting you choose - Based on date or Percentage.
