You receive the error message 'GTIN XXX already used for material ABC' while replicating materials.

Case 1:

The same GTIN number is coming in the payload more than once, but for a different unit of measure (UoM).

By standard this is not allowed in C4C.

 

Case 2:

It is possible in ERP to maintain a material which has multiple GTINs for one UoM.
When this material is replicated to C4C it throws the error outlined in the symptom section.

Case 1:

It is possible to support duplicated GTIN numbers by changing the scoping question in Business Configuration.

Case 2:

C4C can only maintain one GTIN per UoM.

When multiple GTINs are maintained for the one UoM, one of these will automatically be marked as the main EAN and maintained in the related Idoc. The Idoc, segment E1MARMM must contain the main EAN details and the sub-segments E1MEANM will contain the individual EAN details. To ensure that the correct details are sent to C4C check that the middleware mapping takes the EAN information from the E1MARMM segment. This is currently the standard implementation for our integration Iflows.
