2658487 - Advance Reporting: Person Context filter is not working for Position MDF Object

Symptom

  • Is it possible to apply Person Context filter on MDF Position Object?
  • Person Context filter is not working for Position hierarchy. 
  • Vacant Positions are not appearing in advance report due to Person Context filter when Line Manager is not present one level above in Position Org Chart.

Environment

 Advance Reporting.

Reproducing the Issue

  • Create Advance Reporting (Realms) Query.
  • Select Position MDF Object.
  • Select Parent Position MDF Object.
  • Apply Person Context filter. 
  • Share the report with Managers.
  • Even after applying Person Context filter, Manager is unable to see correct Positions under his/ her target population.

Resolution

  • Person context is filtering based on the hierarchy of the logged in user or selected user. 
  • Unless those users in the hierarchy are the incumbent of the position, it won't be showing any data.
  • Person Context doesn't work based on position hierarchy.
