2660195 - Mail Notification Is Not Triggerred For Work Package Assignment.


How does the check box Mail Notification in the Project Task work.


 You expected an email when you added employee to the services or work packages.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Project Management work center
  2. Go to Projects view
  3. Search for respective Project
  4. Go to Project Planning
  5. Go to sub tab Basic Data

Here you can see this check box.


The work package was not assigned by the employee himself.


The Mail Notification will not be triggered to the project manager when the work packages are assigned to the team member by the project manager.


In HTML , Please place your cursor on the small question mark within a circle that appears blue in color right next to the field Mail Notification.

That gives you details as given below:

Determines if a mail will be sent to the person responsible, on the assignment of work packages by a team member. The flag is inherited to all project tasks but can be deleted manually for each task.

That  means:

If the work packages are assigned by the team member using Assign to me button then the Mail Notification will be triggered to the person responsible for the task . If there is no person responsible for the task, the Mail Notification will be sent to the person responsible(project manager) of the parent task.
