2660485 - 'Valuation With Cost Estimate of Material XX Failed' Error in Material Cost Estimate Creation

You get the error message 'Valuation with cost estimate of material XX failed' when creating a Material Cost Estimate.
(XX represents the Material ID)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Inventory Valuation work center.
2. Go to the Material Cost Estimates view.
3. Click New button.
4. Select Cost Estimate with Reference.
5. Enter the relevant parameters.
6. Click Estimate button.
   Note: The Material Cost Estimate failed with the Exception message below:
   'Valuation with cost estimate of material XX failed'

The Production Model for the combination of Material XX and Ship-From Site is missing.

Steps to check the Ship-From Site information for Material XX:

1. Go to the Inventory Valuation work center.
2. Go to the Material Cost Estimates view.
3. Select the Material Cost Estimate that failed.
4. Click View button.
5. Click View All button.
6. Expand the Material XX until you get to the last one in the chart.
7. Open the General subtab.
   Note: Ship-From Site information is displayed there.

Steps to create the new Production Model:

1. Go to the Planning and Production Master Data work center.
2. Go to the Production Models view.
3. Click New button.
4. Fill out the Production ID box with the Material XX.
5. Fill out the Planning Area box with the Ship-From Site information.
6. Enter all other relevant details.
7. Click Finish button.

After you have created the Production Model for the combination of Material XX and Ship-From Site, then create a new Material Cost Estimate.
