2661238 - Competencies Block / Objectives Block and Performance Forms


This article explains the source of ratings in the Competencies / Objectives People Profile blocks.

Firstly, set up the desired settings for the blocks => See KBA 2671091 - PP3: Objective and Competency Blocks


  • There are several forms launched with job code related/core/hardcoded competencies section(s).
  • The form templates are part of Processes and Forms, and fall within the date range you have set up.
  1. PM Form A:

Competency "Customer Service" has a rating of 2

Competency "People Management" has a rating of 3

  1. PM Form B:

Competency "Customer Service" has a rating of 3

Competency "People Management" has a rating of 1


In the competencies block you will see an average of the ratings that come from PM Form A and PM Form B.

=> if the rating scale selected in Processes and Forms matches the rating scale from the PM form, the rating for the competency "Customer Service" would be 2.5 and the rating for "People Management" would be 2.

=> Should the rating scale in Processes and Forms be different to the rating scale in the PM form (e.g. the PM form has a 5 point rating scale and the rating scale selected in Processes and forms is a 3 point rating scale), the rating will additionally be normalized to the 3 point rating scale.  Item weight is not being taken into account.

If you want to only include competencies from one form, you can control this by changing the settings in Processes and forms and removing the PM templates you do not require.

The same logic applies to goals if you use the same goal plan in several Performance Management forms.

If you want to avoid this for goals, you can either exclude the PM templates you don't need from Processes and Forms or always use different goal plans per Performance Management template.
