2661471 - How to drop and recreate an index on a user table - SAP ASE for Business Suite

Symptom

  • SAP applications on SAP ASE database fail with an ST22 short dump referencing a corrupt / inconsistent index on a user table in the SID database
  • ASE commands dbcc checktable / dbcc checkindex on the table reports:

Index <tablename>~X is not consistent; found X leaf rows but Y data rows. Drop and recreate the index.
