Symptom

Can Business User/Business Role assignments be uploaded to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition from another source, such as an identity management system?

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Resolution

The SOAP API ManageBusinessUserIn can be used to update business users from external data sources, such as an identity management system. An employee (BUP003) or contingent worker (BBP005) must be created in the system before using this business user API. Only the User node can be created, updated, and deleted using this API.

 
The following attributes of the User node can be updated: 

  • DateFormatCode
  • DecimalFormatCode
  • TimeZoneCode
  • TimeFormatCode
  • LockedIndicator
  • Roles
  • ValidityPeriod
