2662620 - Unit Conversion in Key Figure Results in ERR

You have created a custom key figure and set up a unit conversion, however when you display the key figure in the report, it shows ERR.

Consider the following scenarios as an example:

A) You have made sure that in the product master data, there is a conversion from specific units of measure to each (e.g. Bag to Each etc). However when you open the report with your key figure, the conversion is not working and the unit of measure shows ERR.

B) You have maintained a Service with Base UoM wday - PD (Working Day). You have maintained a Quantity Conversion for this Service in order to convert one working day into hours (e.g. 1 wday = 8 hours). Your intention is to create a key figure that displays the values in hours instead of working days. In order to achieve this you need to create a new key figure based on a standard key figure (which shows working days) and select Conversion Type Unit Conversion and Target Unit Hour(s) in step 3 of the key figure wizard.

1. Go to the Business Analytics work center, view Design Key Figures.
2. Click on New.
3. In step 1, enter the name, the data source and the key figure type and click on Next.
4. In step 2, enter your formula or restriction and click on Next.
5. In step 3, select Unit Conversion in the conversion type. Select a target unit such as Each or Working Day.
6. Click on Finish.
7. Go to the work center view Design Reports and open a report which is based on the data source you have chosen in the key figure.
8. Click on Add Fields > tab Key Figures and add your key figure.
9. Arrange the report view as required, including your key figure.

You will see that there is no conversion to Each, but instead you see the value with the unit ERR.

In key figure unit conversions, only the following conversions are possible:

• Product/material independent conversions, for example meter into kilometer, gram into kilos, etc. Conversions maintained on Product level are not considered in Reporting for example, each to package etc.
• Conversions between different trading units (e.g. working day) to different physical units (e.g. hour) are not supported.
