2662845 - [Application error]:Script error when creating a new model from a Salesforce connection in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • The following error message appears when trying to create a new model from a Salesforce connection:
    "[Application Error]:Script error."
  • The following error message appears in the Google Developer Tool network tab for the response of the request created after selecting the connection:
    {"status":200,"data":{"cause":{"errorCode":"81","errorMessage":"The users password has expired, you must call SetPassword before attempting any other API operations"},"code":"10008","message":"Salesforce server error ","status":"error"}}

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Salesforce

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon to SAP Analytics Cloud.
  2. Create a new model using "Get data from an app".
  3. Select Salesforce.
  4. Select an existing Salesforce connection.
  5. Notice the error.

Cause

The password for the user maintained in the Salesforce Connector has been expired.

Resolution

  1. Reset the password for the user maintained in the connection.
  2. Edit the connection in SAC and enter the new password.
