"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
When hiring a new employee into the system, enter the National ID details such that the National ID already assigned to a terminated employee record.
You will get a duplicate check popup(refer below screenshot) with terminated employee details. Even if you are clicking 'Ignore Matches' system will throw error message and won't allow us to use the same National ID.
Cause
By default National ID duplicate check performed by system, if we are adding National ID details while hiring an employee into the system.
Resolution
It is not possible to disable this National ID duplicate check performed by system. Basically National ID's are unique to every person and system won't allow us to create more than one employee record for the same person.
In this case the recommend approach is to rehire the employee into system instead of creating new record(new hire), if you do not want to rehire the employee with same employment, we can use the option "Rehire with New Employment" and rehire the same person with new employment details.
