2666422 - Error "No data available or you do not have the necessary permission." when editing or inserting a new record to Position using the same Effective Start Date

If you edit a Position via the Position Org Chart or insert a new record for a Position in Manage Positions and use the same Effective Start Date as the current record's Effective Start Date, an error will be prompted "No data available or you do not have the necessary permission.".

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Position Management

1. Go to Position Org Chart.
2. Search for a Position and click Edit
3. Use an Effective Date 05/15/2018 that is the same as the Position's current Effective Date. Click "Proceed".

   Result: Error prompted "No data available or you do not have the necessary permission."

4. Edit the same Position again and select any Effective Date other than the current Effective Date. It can an earlier or later date.

   Result: No error is prompted and you can edit the Position successfully.

Note: The same behavior is observed when editing from Manage Position and using the same Effective Start Dates.

• There is no permission to "Delete" and "Correct" for Position Object.
• The "Delete" permission is needed when you are trying to edit an object and the Effected Start Date you entered is the same as that current record's Effected Start Date. It means that the system needs to delete the current existing record and replace it with the new one that you are creating also while "Correct" permission is necessary since you are correcting or modifying the current record.

Grant the permission to "Delete" for Position Object.
