  • How to Customise label "Contingent Worker" configurable Contingent Workforce Management

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Contingent Workforce Management

Resolution

Use Manage Languages tool to update the Contingent Worker label

Prerequisites

  • Enable "Language Packs" in Provisioning, by selecting the Provisioning  Company Settings  Language Packsoption, and select the languages you need in your instance, from the list of languages under Language Packs. Only one language is the default language for a company, and it is set to US English, by default.
  • You can change the default language to any language supported in the SAP SuccessFactors application.

As a customer, you do not have access to Provisioning. To complete tasks in Provisioning, contact SAP Cloud Support.

Procedure

  1. Go to Admin Center and search for Manage Languages.
The Manage Languages page appears, with the list of language packs supported for your instance.
  2. Under the Action column, click Add corresponding to the language pack you've chosen (English US). A dialog box prompts you to enter the name of the custom language pack that you are creating to replace the UI labels defined in the original language pack.
  3. Enter a new name for the custom language pack (such as, English US Custom), and click  OK. The custom language pack gets appended to the original language pack.
Next, you need to download the CSV file of the original language pack that has all the default application UI labels, some of which you will customize. To download the CSV file, select the checkbox next to the language (English US), scroll to the bottom of the page, and on the For Checked Items Above dropdown menu, select Download.

The downloaded CSV file, which is the original CSV file, contains the entire list of key values (key) and their corresponding UI labels (defined for locale ID: en_US).

  4. The custom language pack that you've created does not have a CSV file, yet. Create a new CSV file for it, and copy-paste the first line of the original CSV file into the new CSV file.

  5. Next, go to the original CSV file, search for the records you want to customize, and copy-paste the records into the new CSV file. You do not need to copy the entire original file, only the keys and labels you want to  customize
