Symptom
Internal candidates applying to application after job is unposted
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Resolution
There are 4 different scenarios which will result in the application date coming after the job posting end date.
1) Forwarding an internal candidate to a job so the candidate is then in the “Forwarded” status. The job (to which the internal candidate was forwarded) is then unposted so it no longer appears on the career site. The Candidate can still be moved to “Invite to Apply”, “New Application”, or then fill out their application. So, when the internal candidate still applies for the job, the application date will appear after the posting end date.
2) When an Internal candidate is forwarded to a job requisition and moved to the “Forwarded” status, then they are “Invited to Apply” by the recruiter. An email is sent to the candidate with the URL for the Job posting. Before the candidate has applied for the job, the job is unposted. The candidate can still apply for the job using the URL that was sent in the email. This also means that the application date will appear as being after the posting end date.
3) When a recruiter copies the posting URL and saves it, the job is then unposted. The recruiter still has the URL and can use this to apply for the job even when it is unposted. So, when they apply for the job, the application date is also after the posting end date.
4) A candidate clicked on apply while the job was still posted. Then the candidate never completed or saved the application and left their session open on the career site open while still on the application page (did not navigate away from the browser tab) and returned later and completed the application and submitted it.
