Symptom
You open a Sales Order document, navigate to the Items tab and expected to see the description of the products with the logon language.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
In this example, let's consider Spanish and Chinese as the language maintained under the Other Languages tab, at the Product master data.
You have logged in the system in Spanish.
- Go to the Sales Orders work center.
- Select the Sales Orders view.
- Search for ABC (ABC represents the ID of the Sales Order).
- Click the Edit button.
- Click the View All button.
- Navigate to the Items tab.
You see the description of the items in Chinese.
Cause
When a Sales Order is created with a line item, product and product description and once saved, the description will not be translated in every logon. The product description will show in the language in which it was saved.
In this example, the creation of the Sales Orders was done with a user logged in Chinese and after saved, the system stored the description in Chinese.
Resolution
This is the expected system behavior.
If you believe that this can be improved, we would like to invite you to create a thread under the SAP Business ByDesign Customer Influence.
