2667968 - Duplicated Accounts in Sales Territory Accounts View

Symptom

You have a sales territory and when you see its related accounts you see duplicated account IDs.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales work center.
  2. Open the Territories view.
  3. Open Territory ABC (where ABC stands as the territory ID).
  4. Go to the Accounts view.

You will notice duplicated IDs for account DEF in this view (where DEF stands as the Account ID).

Cause

In the account record of the accounts that you are seeing as duplicated, its sales territories view shows the territory ABC in both sections 'Sales Territories' and 'Dedicated Sales Territories'.

Sales Territories section has no New/Add action available in this section. This section shows the list of territories assigned to the account by the territory rules. When doing a Derive Territory action on account or by running a valid realignment run, territories assigned to this account as per rules will show up in this section.

Dedicated Sales Territories section is for a user to assign a territory to the account manually.

When realignment run is executed to assign territories to the accounts it just removes the existing account territory association shown in the first section and creates new territory assignments as per rules. In doing so, it could have happened that user already assigned the new proposed territory manually to this account and thus the same territory is seen in both sections.

Resolution

You can manually delete the territory from the Dedicated Sales Territory section by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Account DEF (where DEF stands as the Account ID).
  2. Open the Sales Territories view.
  3. Click in the trash bin icon of the account DEF record in the section Dedicated Sales Territories.

Now there should be only one account record DEF in the section Sales Territories.
