2669617 - Job History / Comp History time stamp does not show proxy user made changes when data changed with a workflow

Symptom

Job History time stamp does not record the "Last updated by xxxxx *on behalf of* xxxxx" when a workflow is triggered.

This behavior happens for any field in job information / compensation information, what is the reason?

Environment

  • SAP Successfactors Employee Central
  • Job Information
  • Compensation Information

Reproducing the Issue

Scenario 1

  1. Proxy as Local HR
  2. Go to > Test Employee
  3. Take Action > Change Job Information 
  4. Edit and Save Job Info changes
  5. Workflow is triggered
  6. Initiator is not in the workflow approver list
  7. Approve the workflow
  8. Proxy timestamp is not captured in Job Information Changes history > Last updated by xxx on behalf of xxx
  9. The System will not record in Job History "Last updated by xxxxx *on be half of* xxxxx" unless the manager is part of the approver Capture.PNG

Scenario 2

  1. Perform same steps as above, this time make sure that initiator is one of the step approvers in the workflow
  2. Workflow is triggered and approved
  3. Post approval proxy time stamp is captured successfully in Job Information Changes history > Last updated by xxx on behalf of xxx Capture2.PNG

Note: Above mentioned behavior is same in case of compensation information as well.

Cause

The behavior described is a product limitation as of now.

Resolution

This KBA will be updated as soon as we get any information from the Engineering team.
