2670137 - Add New Goal/Objective Options in Development Plan

This article provides information on how to edit the option "+ Add goal", to open the Create New Goal directly, without the dropdown values.

SAP Successfactors Career Development Plan

1. Go to Development Plan page;
2. Click "+ Add goal";
3. A list with available options will be displayed:
   Create New Development Goal
   Copy From Other Development Goal Plan

The dropdown menu can be removed, so that when you click "+ Add goal" option in Development Plan, the "Add Development Goal" is opened without having to select the option in the menu:

To open the Create New Goal dialog directly, when clicking on "+ Add goal", it is necessary to disable the Copy From Other Goal Plan feature. The same behavior in Development Plan will be replicated in Goal Management, disabling this option. The option to copy and transfer Goals/Objectives in both Development Plan and Goal Management will be removed, and users will no longer be able to copy transfer goals/objectives from one template to another, and admins will not be able to transfer goals between users for Goal Management.

To disable the wizard for copying goals, disable the option "TGM/CDP Goals Transfer Wizard" in Admin Center > Goals Management Feature Settings. This option controls the Goal/Objective transfer/copy for all Goals and Development Plan templates in your instance. This setting is not template-specific, and will apply for all templates.

Notes:

• With LMS integrated systems it is not recommended to use the 'Copy From Other Development Goal Plan' - with "TGM/CDP Goal Transfer Wizard" enabled, as it can cause issues when deleting Learning Activities from one goal which can have the effect of deleting Learning Activities from the copied goal.
• When using the "Copy from other Development Goal Plan", goals can be copied from one plan to another as long as the same configuration is maintained for both templates. Copying from a goal plan that has different configuration to the one you are copying to, can lead to wrong data or no data showing for the fields that have been changed. 
• Our Development team is currently working on an enhancement to this behavior.  Confirmation as to when this will be ready is pending.
