2671379 - rs_init hangs FOREVER in the RSSD CHECKS - SRS

Symptom

  • When configuring a new SRS, rs_init hangs at "Running task: check the RSSD SQL Server"
    • Here is the rs_init interactive screen shot:

      REPLICATION SERVER SYSTEM DATABASE
      1. RSSD SQL Server name: <SRS>
      2. RSSD name: <SRS_RSSD>
      3. RSSD will be replicated: yes
      4. Allow HA Failover for RSSD connections: no
      5. Create RSSD: no
      6. SA user: sa
      7. SA password: xxxx
      8. Primary user: <RSSD_prim>
      9. Primary password: xxxx
      10. Maintenance login: <RSSD_maint>
      11. Maintenance password: xxxx
      Ctrl-a Accept and Continue, Ctrl-x Exit Screen,? Help.

  • Enter the number of your choice and press return:

    *** after <Ctrl-a> is pressed, the rs_init screen is HANGING FOREVER

  • rs_init log:
    CONNECTIVITY ERROR: CS-Library error: 'cs_ctx_drop: cslib
    user api layer: external error: The context structure cannot
    be dropped because the application has not exited from ct.'
