2671449 - Mass Data Maintenance is Exporting IDs With Leading Zeros

Symptom

You are exporting records using the Mass Data Maintenance work center, but you noticed that the numeric IDs are exported with leading zeros.

Environment

SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer - all its versions.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Mass Data Maintenance work center.
  2. Click on the Export button of the desired object.
  3. Search for the records you want to export.
  4. Export the records.
  5. Check the downloaded CSV file and see the IDs with leading zeros.

Cause

The IDs are exported with leading zeros due to the alpha conversion of purely numerical IDs. Even though while creating a record in UI, the ID is displayed without these leading zeros, in backend the numerical IDs are stored with them. This is the same reason why you also cannot create records with numeric IDs containing leading zeros.

Resolution

This is the expected system behavior. To perform the mass data maintenance import, you should not remove the leading zeros of the exported records, otherwise the import will fail, because the system will not recognize the ID of the respective record.
