2671737 - Remaining Planned Cost is Shown as Zero in Project Cost and Revenue by Project Structure Report

You run the Project Cost and Revenue by Project Structure report and the Remaining Planned cost is shown as zero.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Analytics Work center.
2. Go to the Design Reports view.
3. Show All Reports and Find Report Project Cost and Revenue by Project Structure.
4. In the Project field, enter ID XXX (Here XXX represents Project ID).
5. Fill in all the mandatory fields.
6. Press Apply. 
7. Add the Project task attribute to the rows and press Apply

You notice the Remaining Planned costs field shows zero for project tasks for which costs have already been incurred.

• Only Expenses have been planned for the project task. However, Remaining costs are derived from the Remaining Work field in a project task's Work tab or from the Remaining Quantity field in a project tasks Materials tab. For planned expenses there is no Remaining expenses option from where the Remaining Cost can be derived. 

OR

• For planned services/materials the Remaining work/quantity field has been manually modified after the project task was released*. As the remaining work/quantity was modified, the Remaining work/quantity is no longer updated automatically, so that the Remaining Cost can no longer be derived in the report, unless updated manually.

• Remaining Costs for project tasks are only shown for planned services and materials and only if the Remaining work/quantity field was not updated manually after project task release. If it was updated manually after release you need to keep manually updating the Remaining work/quantity field. 
• Remaining Costs are not derived for project tasks for which only Expenses are planned as here there is no Remaining Expenses field available for the project task.
