No meaningful result is displayed in the VAT Return run. Only one information message:

'No tax item exists for period DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY (DD.MM.YYYY represents the period the VAT Return is created for).'

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Go to the Tax Management work centre.
2. Go to the Periodic tasks view.
3. Go to the VAT Return Runs sub view.
4. Show All Tax Return Runs and search for VAT Return Run XYZ (XYZ represents the VAT Return Run ID).
5. Under Details VAT Return Run XYZ, Select Application Log ID: XXX (XXX represents the Application Log ID).
6. Select Results tab.

There is an information message: No tax item exists for period DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY

7. Click on the Run ID: XYZ

Under Tax Return Details, Tax Return type is: 999 Tax Return.

Tax Return Type: 999 - Tax Return is a generic Tax Return Type which has been delivered for Non Localized Countries. It picks all tax codes.

If the country is a Localized Country, specific VAT Return has been delivered. Need to choose the specific Tax Return Type which has been delivered to the country.
