2672877 - Error 208: Global temporary table not found after rollback - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • A procedure can return error message 208 on a global temporary table
  • When the procedure contains a rollback
  • And is executed in (very) quick succession:

Msg 208, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'ASE', Procedure 'gtt_test_proc', Line 6:
##t_global not found. Specify owner.objectname or use sp_help to check whether the object exists (sp_help may produce lots of output).
(return status = -6)
