Symptom
When encountering a network error on connection to the database.
Checking the current TCP/IP configuration can help eliminate error if Db2 is at fault or identify if the issue is below the database, in the network or O/S layer.
Some errors/reasons to check would be:
- SQL30081N A communication error has been detected
- ECONNREFUSED: Connection Refused
- R3trans failed
- Network errors when starting SAP
- General test of current TCPIP configuration
