2674223 - Wrong Item Type in the Intercompany Sales Order

Item type for the product changed automatically in the intercompany sales order.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Sales Orders work center.
2. Go to Sales Orders view.
3. Search and Edit the sales order XYZ. (XYZ represents the Sales Order number)
4. Click View All and navigate to Items tab.
5. The Item Type maintained is DEF. (DEF represents the Item type of the Product in sales order XYZ)
6. Go to Sales Order view.
7. Search and Edit the sales order PQR. (PQR represents the intercompany Sales order number)
8. Click View All and navigate to Items tab.
9. The Item Type maintained is JKL. (JKL represents the Item type of the Product in sales order PQR)

You are expecting the system to maintain the same item type in both sales orders.

The prerequisite for determining the correct item type is

1.sales organization and distribution channel combination, which is maintained in the product master data under sales tab with correct Item Type (eg: if  sales order is related to project then item type should be related to projects)

or

2.For sales order to have correct Sales organization, the sales unit has to be determined correctly in sales order using determination rules.

For Sales unit to be determined correctly you have to maintain determination rule.

For maintaining the determination rule, kindly follow the below steps

1. Go to Business Configuration - Overview
2. Search for Involved Parties for Sales Orders
3. Click Open
4. Select the Sales Unit and click Maintain Determinations

If you activate Responsibility  "Sales Unit for Sales", then maintain the details in the Work Distribution view as below.

1. Go to the Organizational Management work center.
2. Go to the Work Distribution view.
3. Go to the Organizational Work Distribution subview.
4. Select Sales Unit for Sales.
5. Select the Edit button.
6. You can maintain the determination rule  for each company.
