Supervisors assigning free floating items to delegates can edit the Assignment Type

SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) - All Supported Versions

1. Search for a course as a supervisor from the catalog.
2. Assign this course to the learning plan of a delegate you will be able to change the assignment type.
3. You can alter the assignment type even if the assignment is set as required on the admin side.

As per Product Management, Self assigned items will only keep their assignment type when assigned via a curriculum.

Self assignment of free floating items assumes it's optional and thereby does not have an Assignment Type when viewed from the Admin side.

If you would want the Required date and Assignment Type to be set for courses, that are assigned by the supervisor, you need to have the supervisor assign the course via a curricula.

The course needs to be added to a curricula and the curricula needs to be present in the catalog.
