Symptom
When nominating via the People Profile/ Employee Profile or in Succession, the rating scale drop-down does not populate with the expected labels defined in the Rating Scale Designer
**Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental**
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile
- SAP SuccessFactors Succession Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Employee Profile
- Nomination Portlet
- Add Nomination
- Search for user > Next > Next
- Click on the Readiness drop-down
- Result = no labels populating.
Cause
It may be due to the Rating Scale not having any translations in the Rating Scale Designer for the particular language you are logged in with.
E.g. there may be translations for English US, but not for English UK:
Resolution
To resolve this, you will need to add a translation for each language via the Rating Scale Designer.
- Open the Rating Scale
- On the left you can see the dropdown for each language
- Enter a translation for each language and Save
- Log out and back in to see the translations
Note: if the Readiness Scale for 'Readiness' is not written exactly as defined in the Admin Guide for Succession (with a capital 'R'), then it will also inhibit the ratings scale dropdown from populating.
E.g. below with lower case 'r' this will not work:
You need to change it to 'Readiness' as defined in the Admin Guide:
Then it will work correctly:
Note: Only alphanumeric characters and XML based special characters are supported for the values. Example: using a greater than/ less than character (< >) will result in unwanted characters displaying in the dropdown. To show a value for more than five years we recommend using +5 years in the readiness rating scale.
