2677613 - WE21 - Error at OPEN ‘with operation system error msg.:’ (check path name)’

Symptom

When the WE21 'Directory' and 'Outbound file' fields are not maintained (empty) for the File Port XXXX IDocs fail with the error below during processing:

 

      Error at OPEN ‘with operation system error msg.:’ (check path name)’.

      Message No. E0099

Diagnosis
An error occurred when an outbound file was opened with 'OPEN DATASET'. The name of the outbound file is: xxxx  with operating system error msg.: No such file or directory
 
Procedure
1. Check whether the directory exists and is linked for the SAP System.
2. If yes, check whether there is any space in the file system.
3. If the file already exists, check the authorization and the owner
