Symptom

  • Profiling task on a single DB2 AS400 table doing both simple and median & distribution profiling fails consistently
  • Simple profiling runs successfully
  • Simple and median & distribution profiling fails
  • Table contains a large amount of columns like 80
  • Debug package monitor log is empty and error log contains:

Cannot write onto Disk for the file <D:/ProgramData/SAP BusinessObjects/DataServices/log/pCache/PPF_file_592_181_105_1461_1_0_592>. OS Error: <No space left on device>

  • Task log contains:

java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method java.lang.CharSequence.length() of a null object loaded from field java.util.regex.Matcher.text of an object loaded from local variable 'this'
