  • Installing the SAP HANA Data Provisioning Agent (dpagent) on Windows fails in the step 'Installing Microsoft C/C++ Runtime' environment.
  • Messages like the following are seen:
    • Cannot install Microsoft C/C++ Runtime
        Starting external program C:\<install_directory>\packages\msdev2015_vcredist_x64.exe
          Command line is: C:\<install_directory>\packages\msdev2015_vcredist_x64.exe /q
          Program terminated with exit code 1638
