Symptom

  • Want to use python to access Data Assurance (DA) server in programs
  • Installed SAP SDK for ASE
  • sybpydb fails to connect DA server
    >>> import sybpydb
    >>> conn = sybpydb.connect(user='.....', password='.....', servername='MYDA')
    Cannot raise error, context is NULL
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
    sybpydb.ProgrammingError: ('ct_connect(): user api layer: external error: The connection failed because of invalid or missing external configuration data.', 191)
