2680356 - No Result If You Search for Journal Entry with Related Source Document ID in Basic Search

Symptom

You search with Related Source Document ID in basic search for journal entry, but no result. But the specific journal entry does exist. You can find it if you search with joural entry ID in basic search.

Environment

SAP Business Bydesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to General Ledger work center and view Journal Entry.
  2. Search with XYZ.(XYZ stands for Related Source Document ID of the journal entry.) No result is found.

Cause

This is expected behaviour. Related Source Document ID is only working if you search it in Advanced Search

Resolution

Open the advanced filter (next to the search), you can find a field of Related Source Document ID.

You can even search multiple related source documents at a time in this way.
