Symptom

After an SAP kernel upgrade (to 754, 753, 749, 773(patch level < 300)), the following errors or incorrect behavior occurs when using various BPC functions (this list may be incomplete):

  • EPM Add-in reports or input schedules.
  • BPC Web reports or input schedules.
  • BPC Script Logic (i.e., K2 script) or any related Data Manager Packages.
  • The Controls function of both BPC Standard and BPC Embedded.
  • Member formula administration.
  • Script logic administration.
  • Running consolidation business rules such as currency translation or automatic adjustments.
  • Running processes from the Consolidation Monitor such as Run Currency Translation and Run Consolidation. 

Error:

  • bad request. Server message: code: UJO_READ_EXCEPTION_018
  • severity: error
  • description:MDX statement error: Syntax error: Syntax Error : ..., row #, item: #'
  • MDX Interface BAPI SelectData CL_RSO_APPLICATION_LOG========CP Batch processing Message No. BRAINOLAPAPI153

This error message can be found in the SLG1 log, the EPM Add-in pop-up error window or BPC Data Manager package execution logs.
