2682011 - Serial Number 1234567890 Cannot be Issued, Not Tagged to Inventory Manage Location

You are trying to issue serial number 1234567890 for a customer from your delivery request document. The system displays the above error message when you enter the serial number for the product.

SAP Business ByDesign, ByD, SAP ByD

1. Go to Outbound Logistics work center.
2. Navigate to the Delivery Proposals view.
3. Search for the relevant Delivery Reqest ID, select it and choose the Post Goods Issue button.
4. In Create Outbound Delivery and Goods Issue screen select the relevant product and choose the sub-tab Serial Numbers.
5. Enter the serial number with id 1234567890.

The system displays the error message Serial Number 1234567890 Cannot be Issued, Not Tagged to Inventory Manage Location.

You have not maintained the correct Logistics Use value in the logistics area from which your products will be shipped. Please make sure that the Logistics Use in the logistics area should match the value in Source Logistics Use field of the corresponding Logistics Model in use for the Site.

To maintain the Logistics Use value for a logistics area follow the below mentioned steps.

1. Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data work center.
2. Navigate to the Locations view.
3. Select the Site or Location under which you have maintained the relevant logistics area and choose the Edit Layout button.
4. From the Site Layout screen select the Logistics Area from which you are shipping the product from.
5. In the General tab, under the section Logistcs Use choose the Add Row button.
6. Select the relevant Logistics Use value from the drop down list and choose the Save and Close button.

Once the above steps are performed you will be able to issue the serial numbers for your product without any errors.
