2682861 - When Exporting a New Sales Plan to MS Excel, The Cell of the Customer Name is Filled with a Pound Key

Symptom

In your Sales Target Planning endeavor, you notice that the Sales Target Plan MS Excel Worksheet displays a pound key (hashtag: #) in the AccountName cell.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales workcenter.
  2. Go to the Sales workcenter Sales Target Planning.
  3. Click the document icon to download the Sales Plan.
  4. Save it to your desktop in its original format.
  5. Create and open a New Excel worksheet.
  6. Drag the downloaded XML to the MS Excel worksheet.
  7. Log into the Add-in from the related MS Excel tab.
  8. In the Add-in side panel, tick the Customer Name checkbox to have it displayed on the Sales Plan.

Result: The Account Name cell displays a #.

Cause

This is the expected system behaviour if no Account is maintained as a dimension of the Sales Target Plan.

Resolution

Pre-requisite: You activated Account in your Planning Dimensions by checking the corresponding checkbox in the Sales Target Plan Wizard.

  1. Go to the Sales Workcenter.
  2. Go to the Sales Target Planning.
  3. Click Sales Target Plan ABC (ABC represents your Sales Target Plan in preparation).
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Choose Plan Structure.
  6. Click Next to reach Stage 2. Select Planning Dimensions.
  7. Highlight the Account row.
  8. In the Details of the Account, click Edit.
  9. Add the targeted Account from the Available Items list to the Selected by highlighting the row and click the arrow button.
  10. Click Ok.
  11. Click Next until you reach the Stage 6. Confirmation.
  12. Save your changes.
