2684676 - Import Employee Data - Download Status Null on Monitor Job "Please fix the errors in the original import file and validate again"


When Import a file via Import Employee Data the Download Status returns the following response:

Please fix the errors in the original import file and validate again.

Reproducing the Issue

The Monitor Jobs return the jobResponse but when you download it, the following message is displayed in file: "Please fix the errors in the original import file and validate again."


This error is a database issue, but due to the complexity and possible side effects of the issue, the timeline for delivering the fix is not confirmed yet as lot of regression testing needs to be done before releasing the fix for you.

We are doing our best to resolve this issue as quick as possible, but we depend on the progress of the regression testing.


Permanent Solution

Currently this is being worked on my SAP SuccessFactors Development team. Currently it is not planned to be patched due to risk and regression testing requirement. Currently the earliest the fix can be delivered in 1811, but this is a target and not yet confirmed. More information will be provided here as soon as it is available.


As a workaround, please keep the Batch Size of the import job as "50". You can set this via:

  1. Admin Center > Company System And Logo Settings
  2. Set the "Batch size for Employee Central and Foundation data imports" to 50
  3. Click "Save Company System Setting"
  4. Go back to "Import Employee Data" and try importing less records in the file (for example if you have a file of 10,000 records, initially try a smaller number such as 1,000. If all goes well, slowly increase the volume in the next load).

SPECIAL NOTE: If this workaround does not work, please open an case with SAP Cloud Product Support, and the team can get the Validation errors for you from the Application logs and provide them so the import file can be corrected. If this is the case, please be sure to provide the following information when raising a ticket with SAP Cloud Product Support:

Via Provisioning:

  1. Go to Provisioning > Monitor Jobs
  2. Click "Details" for the job in question.
  3. Copy the "Job Name" and "Server Address" and also provide the Instance ID of the instance in question.

Via Admin Center:

  1. Go to Admin Center > Monitor Job
  2. Copy the "Job Name" and "Submission Time" and also provide the Instance ID of the instance in question.
