Symptom

  • Could not do any backup because of a blocking spid
  • running dbcc stacktrace on blocking spid gives a trace containing:

cfg_create_file
cfg_dumpconfig

  • The blocking spid was running exec sp_configure 'configuration file', 0, 'write', '$BCP_DIR/$Directory_name/${directory_name}_${name}.cfg'
