2685156 - Schema .xsd not found in NetWeaver 7.5

You have a 7.5 PI/PO system and the following error is raised when processing messages:

com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.aii.adapter.xi.routing.RoutingException: com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.ResourceException: Schema <File name of the schema>.xsd not found in /usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/j2ee/cluster/server<node>/validation/schema/<GUID of software component version to which Service Interface is assigned>/<Repository Namespace of Service Interface>/<Service Interface>/<targetNamespace>/<File name of the schema>.xsd (validation/schema) at com.sap.aii.adapter.soap.web.SOAPHandler.processSOAPtoXMB

Looking at the defaultTrace files, the following error can be seen:

Cannot create Stamp File /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/cluster/serverX/validation/schema/Cache_update.txt .
Thrown:
java.io.IOException: No such file or directory (path validation/schema/Cache_update.txt, working dir /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/j2ee/cluster/serverX)

And

Catching Exception com.sap.aii.utilxi.xmlvalidation.execution.SchemaNotFoundInCacheException: No XML schema found in cache for interface xxxxx in namespace xxxx, software component version xxxx and root tag Fault, root tag namespace xxxx

The correction delivered in the SAP Note 2296476 - XML Validation is skipped for synchronous response message has been already applied, but still the issue persists.
