Changes into the Approve Timesheet scenario in S4 HANA Cloud.

The App “Approval Timesheet” for S4 HANA changes since 1808.

The old Approve Timesheet App will be finally deprecated in future releases and now we have released the new version to use into the “My Inbox” app.

• For accessing the old Approve Timesheet; A warning/deprecation message will be shown after click ok the customer can access it for this release but there won’t be any enhancements for this app.
  
  
• When try to access the New Approve Timesheet – My Inbox, the business catalog SAP_HCM_BC_TS_WIAPPROVE_PC should be assigned to the relevant Project Manager role, as described in the following documentation

Change into the Substitute option in My Inbox: By default, the submitted time entries will go only to the Project Manager for approval. If the Project Manager would like to enable the approval for the Project Controller or any other approver, he or she would need to use the substitute feature. Once the user/manager opens the My Inbox app, he/she should click on the user icon in Launchpad where they can see the Manage My Substitute option once clicked on that icon a dialog box will open there the user can assign the substitute for the task. There's also de possibility to defined substitute for unplanned absences, please check Create and Manage Substitution Rules

App Extensibility: Approve Timesheet - My Inbox: In the standard solution, approval is enabled only for the project-related tasks and the default approver is the Project Manager. Other accounting object like WBS Element, Internal Order, Cost center, and non-project related tasks are approved automatically by default. In case you need to send the “time entries” to any other person other than the default person (Project Manager) or want to enable approval process for other accounting objects, then you should implement the HCM: Timesheet Approver Determination (HCM_CATS_V1_APPROVER_DETRMN) Badi. For more details please refer the Badi documentation which is available in the custom Fields and Logic app.
