Symptom

  • Error 889 is reported in the ASE errorlog after a latch free index is created, for example:

Error: 889, Severity: 20, State: 1
Internal error. Contact SAP Technical Support for help. BCM thread found MASS 0x0x15df45b00 in database 'tdb1' (4) and cache 'default data cache' (0) in an unexpected state (0x100000e000819).

  • Housekeeper Garbage Collection (HKGC) is enabled
